Originally recorded in August 1976 at Spaceward Studios, Cambridge, UK.

"My Old Man" is the debut album by Bob Hughes, recorded with Ron Turner and Carmine ‘Chic’ Cinque. The album combines elements of folk and singer-songwriter styles, with themes of relationships, personal experiences, and family life.

This edition includes a bonus CD featuring rehearsal/demo recordings. These recordings were made at Bob Hughes’ home and feature the same core musicians, with Carmine ‘Chic’ Cinque also acting as tape operator.

The original album was recorded with minimal resources, with some material reportedly captured in a single extended session.
