A year in the making, "Drowned in a Sea of Sound" takes nothing but the best elements of the Daysleepers' highly acclaimed EP's and blends them with some entirely new experimental soundscapes. Their trademark sound of mixing Dreampop, Post-Punk and New Wave styles is still very much present, and at times pushes even beyond those boundaries. Imagine the sounds of the Cure, Cocteau Twins, The Chameleons and Slowdive rolled into one. These 10 tracks touch on a wide variety of sounds and emotions ranging from spacey ethereal drones to blissful up-tempo dreampop beauty.

Produced by legendary Glaswegian Norman Blake (Teenage Fanclub, BMX Bandits, The Pastels etc), “After Summer” is the 4th proper album from the Pias, and quite possibly their best album to date. It has the well-known and well-loved Pia Fraus sound, quality songwriting, a lot of studio tricks and layers of guitars, synths, and boy/girl vocals. This album will bring huge grins to the mouths of Pia Fraus fans, yet at the same time it is a perfect introduction to Pia Fraus for the uninitiated.

From the opening strains of 'Emmanuelle', Monocle immediately set about wrapping the listener in a blanket of dizzying hypnotic pop. Moving from bossa-fuelled dark night car rides to lush shoegaze-tinged astral rock. Tracks such as 'Music of Space', 'Agent Earle' and 'Airphase' present some of the best newgaze pop you will hear this year, leaving behind the often overbearing austerity of the genre and replacing it with an innate melancholic warmth and energy.

Sometimes, the best way to jumpstart songwriting creativity is playing someone else's song. That wasn't necessarily the plan when DulceSky set out to cover the mighty Ride in early 2007, but it ended up being the result. When it became apparent that the Ride tribute album would never see the light of day, DulceSky decided to release their cover instead of letting it gather dust. And then added 3 new tracks as well. Textured guitars, shimmering keyboards, and overall atmospheric and elegiac songwriting.

11 new songs and original artwork by Riceboy Sleeps (Jonsi Birgisson of SIGUR ROS and Alex Somers of PARACHUTES). At the invitation of Birgisson and Somers, Hammock gave their first-ever live performance at the after party celebration of the Riceboy Sleeps overseas debut art exhibition in Hot Springs, AR in August 2007. This is the studio recording of the original music written and played by Hammock for the occasion. It has all of the vulnerability and spontaneity of a performance, yet all of the rich, cinematic beauty of a Hammock studio recording.

THISQUIETARMY is a solo project from a young talented Canada-based artist Eric Quach. He is also known for being a guitarist in a renowned shoegaze band DESTROYALLDREAMERS. As THISQUIETARMY, he explores never-ending spectrum of guitar ambience and loop drone sounds. Eric Quach manages to capture the essence of contemporary alternative guitar experimentation while maintaining disturbing but also captivating aural atmosphere. Guest appearance by Aidan Baker.

When Wes and Juju got a new piano, up went the mics and out came the music. Flowing pieces of raw improvisation from Juju were recorded and then dressed, bit by bit, by Wes in layers of modular synth distortion. Gorgeous piano music with electronic twitterings for fans of Mum, Bjork, Broadcast, Erik Satie... Features a guest appearance by Gorgon McIntyre (BALLBOY). This is the last park avenue music release, as they transition to "hearts+horses".

For fans of Slowdive, Moose, Shelflife Records... Tears Run Rings features ex-members of The Autocollants, Laura Watling, and both of the masterminds behind Shelflife Records. These pop veterans have abandoned their twee roots and traded it for dense, wall-of-sound arrangements and aggressive distorted guitars -- but that's not to say they have forgotten their pop sensibilities. Layers of boy-girl vocals inspired by the harmonies of 60s groups such as The Lennon Sisters and The Caravelles.

All of the Stars is Secret Shine's second studio album, and their first in 14 years. It encapsulates the passion of Secret Shine's live power pop, but is both delicate and beautiful. They have lost none of the sumptuous boy/girl harmonies and celestial melodies that made their debut album Untouched (Sarah Records) such a classic that is still revered in shoegazing circles today. The band drift effortlessly between epic, orchestral arrangements and sparse, haunting melodies.

Moscow Olympics take the soul of classic labels like Creation, Sarah, and Slumberland, and breathe new life into that sound. A dreampop/shoegaze/indiepop update for the late 00's. Blissed out instrumentals of the melodic and textural type. Lots of reverbed and delayed guitars. Sometimes gauzy and sleepy. Sometimes fuzzy and ferocious. Sometimes strange, yet always beautiful. Influenced by Mogwai, Tarentel, Tristeza, Durutti Column, Landing, Eluvium, Labradford, The Church, Pink Floyd, etc. There are no vocals. Yet the song titles, samples, and prose (on the insert) convey a disillusionment with the poisoning of our mental environment.

Colour Kane are one of the new breed of dream popsters with music that stands for cascading guitars and sweet soaring vocals propelled by driving bass and electronic beats.
