It's a rare band indeed that can invite comparison to both Sonic Youth & Stereolab, but Masonic has managed that feat. This cd, their debut, combines intelligent pop songcraft with an aggressive assault of guitar, drum, & bass matched with an endearing keyboard mix ala the Rentals & lush understated vocals reminiscent of Yo La Tengo's Georgia Hubley or Stereolab's Laetitia Sadier.
