Evervess are purists. Like the first wave of shoegazers, they've taken the songs of The Beatles and The Byrds, pushed them through a jet engine and arrived at a chiming, driving, tsunami of sound all built around well-crafted songs. There is an unavoidable nostalgia apparent in the music of Evervess, but that makes them no less vital in today's sonic landscape. With labelmates, Dreamtiger, they are at the forefront of a Southern California renaissance of gauzy, saturated, bliss.
