This new record by The Other Guy In Fridge is a collection of all his favourite covers, drawn from the 1991-2001 end of his record collection, reinterpreting works by Bjork, PJ Harvey, Low, The Breeders, Aphex Twin and Smashing Pumpkins among others. Far from being conventional reproductions of the songs in question, Adem finds new, inventive ways of tackling his source material, never more so than on Aphex's 'To Cure A Weakling Child/Boy Girl Song', which becomes a very different piece of music thanks to some skilful acoustic reinterpretation and what would seem to be live percussion played in a fashion that mimics Aphex's beat programming. While the intro to The Breeders' 'Invisible Man' all goes a bit Crowded House during the intro, but it soon sorts itself out, turning into something close to a Velvet Underground song. Meanwhile, Tortoise's 'Gamera' is arranged as a solo acoustic guitar rag, and Bjork's 'Unravel' undergoes an especially effective transformation, very much preserving the feel of the original, albeit in a bit of an MTV Unplugged sort of way.
