JR are back at their most unorthodox, led by Frank Rudow (former member of Viva Las Vegas and Manta Ray), Rafa and Borja. Five years after the disturbing "127", their latest release, "La JR" is a work of jazz with atmosphere, a blend between Guided By Voices, Ry Cooder, the first Tortoise and acoustic AR Kane. Drum'n'bass without drums nor bass? Hermetic and dirty, like cement, rust or street furniture, JR project themselves through subtle meanderings and wild projections in 10 songs included in what could turn out to be this 2005's best Spanish album so far, which they prove through the modest handicraft ingredients and exciting results of what is perhaps the least pretentious and realistic record of any of the "arty" groups we all could care to mention. DISCOGRAPHY AS JR: "Los pies congelados" on Acuarela Songs 3 CD compilation (Acuarela, 2004), 127 CD album (Acuarela, 1999), Jr CD album (Astro, 1997), DISCOGRAPHY AS ELIMINATOR JR: Chándal CD album (Elefant, 1994).
