Another gorgeous offering from the ever-loveable Static Caravan imprint, this time bringing us two tracks from Scotland's Marcia Blaine crew, previously found in fine fettle on their EP for the Dalriada imprint and contributions to compilations by the likes of Benbecula and Struktur. 'Pink Sticks' on the A side unfolds with an arrangement of resonating piano chords stretching themselves into a timeless, emotive melody without any digital trickery or pretension - just warm, crunchy, killer bass-ebbs and lullaby patterns. Classic stuff. 'We' on the flip employs vibraphonic tones and bass hums with a Steve Reichian arrangement of sparse parts, tinkling hi-hats and oscillating bass tones injecting proceedings with a distinctly Isan-esque vibe. Lovely, limited to 500 copies and an essential purchase.
