Sacramento's Frank Jordan release their third record, their first with Devil in the Woods on February 17, 2004. Frenzied, thoughtful, dyanamic and kinetic, "Milk the Thrills" is the band at their best.
Frank Jordan, the band, was formed in 1994 by a group of high school friends from Carmichael, CA. This is their first band, Devin was turned on to drums by his older brother and started playing when he was 10 years old, Mike taught Matt how to play bass and then taught himself how to sing. Like most bands, the members of Frank Jordan we're never formally trained in music and they play by "ear & memory", but unlike most bands they practice four times a week in a gutted out insurance company loft and have played over 600 shows in the last 5 years. On dedication and commitment to their music, singer/guitarist Mike Visser states flatly: "I don't have a back up plan, I didn't go to college...the band is it".
Touring is big part of what makes Frank Jordan who they are. It is rare you find a band that can be so passionate about going out and experiencing what the road has to offer, often drawing inspiration from their experiences. During their travels they've shared the stage with such acts as Grandaddy, Jimmy Eat World, Mike Watt, Jason Lowenstein, Hella and The Paperchase.
In February 2003 Frank Jordan worked alongside Producer and Engineer Eddie Ashworth and the Hideout studio in Redondo Beach, CA for two months to record "Milk the Thrills". The band lived in the studio this entire time and the result is ten tracks that finally steer the band in a direction they've sought for the past two years they've spent crafting those songs on the open road.
The band's influences include but are certainly not limited to: The Cure, Fugazi, The Police, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin--a true mix of a band well versed in the history of the genre in which they operate.
